Title: Caseworker – Welfare Benefits
Pay scale: £20,981.75 to £25,385.53 (pro rata). Starting salary negotiable depending on experience.
Hours: 22.5 hours per week
Contract: Fixed term contract.
Benefits: 3% contributions to employer’s pension scheme. 25 days annual leave (pro rata), bank holidays (pro rata) and an additional 2.5 days to be taken between Christmas and the New Year (pro rata), Healthcare Plan (eligibility required), Cycle to Work scheme (eligibility required).
Responsible to: Team Leader, Generalist Advice

We are part of the Advice Plymouth Partnership delivering advice to people who live, work or study in Plymouth. The service includes delivery of welfare benefits and debt advice within our drop in service.
Context of role:
The main context of this role is to provide a flexible service which ensures clients advice needs are met across all areas of welfare benefits and related issues. You will be required to support and act for clients and negotiate on their behalf when necessary.
To contribute towards the delivery of a comprehensive welfare benefits service in line with the requirements of our contractual obligations. The role includes delivering services on the telephone and face to face.
Provide technical support to the team around welfare benefits advice and casework, mentor, develop and train benefits advisers, and work with the management team to ensure that quality of advice continues to improve across the whole office.
