EDF Energy and Citizens Advice Plymouth celebrate 10 years working in partnership to support vulnerable customers with a visit from the Chief Executive of Simone Rossi.

Simone Rossi on a tour of the region spent time meeting staff who offer holistic advice to EDF Energy customers via the Energy Helpline. He also listened into one of the advisor’s telephone calls with a vulnerable customer and heard first hand the impact that this partnership is having.

Daniel Gill the Utilities Manager said, “Citizens Advice Plymouth are delighted that Simone Rossi personally asked to visit the team in Plymouth and is taking an active interest in observing our front-line staff tackle fuel poverty long term through holistic advice. This visit was a pivotal moment for the team, receiving personal thanks from the CEO has reenergised the team ready for our 11th year in partnership. It was a pleasure to share the outcomes from our 10th year in partnership, which has been the strongest to date. Citizens Advice Plymouth continue to be very proud to partner with EDF Energy”.

In the last financial year nearly 11,000 EDF customers were spoken to by Citizens Advice Plymouth staff, all of whom were provided with self-help materials. Over 2000 of these were then allocated an advisor who helped them through holistic advice to gain over £2 million of income they are entitled to and writing off £72,000 of energy debt via charitable application.
