Full-time (37 hours per week)
Working between Monday to Thursday 9:00 – 17:00, and Friday 9:00 – 16:30.
About the role:
At Citizens Advice Plymouth, the training and development of our people is at the heart of everything we do, to make sure we provide our clients with the highest quality of service. You will be working in the Learning and Development team within our HR department to deliver our Workforce Development strategy. To be successful in this role, you must enjoy working with people as the majority of your time will be spent on delivering training and working directly with learners.
You will be developing training and learning activities across the whole organisation to induct new staff and volunteers as well as providing training to address any skills gaps in other roles across the organisation. You may also be delivering training to external organisations.
You will have an enthusiastic, open and creative approach to learning and accommodate the development needs of paid staff and volunteers through coaching and mentoring, as well as direct training sessions.
You will be skilled at making training sessions engaging and fully inclusive, with an understanding of reasonable adjustments, and be able to adapt the medium of delivery to the needs of the situation and the learner(s) (for example, making a choice about whether to create a video, an e-learning session or to deliver a ‘classroom’ session)
You will need to be resilient, adaptable, and able to carry out training on topics such as mental health, safeguarding, and managing suicidal conversations as well as our advice and casework topics, such as debt and energy, housing, immigration, and employment. Prior knowledge of these topics is desirable, but not essential.
