About the role:
At Citizens Advice Plymouth, the Human Resources (HR) department have the training and development of our people at the heart of everything we do to ensure we are providing our clients with the highest quality of service and are fully developing our staff.
We are looking to appoint a Training Manager to support our HR function by overseeing our training delivery across the organisation, from client facing roles through to specialist roles and leadership.
The training manager will be responsible for developing and implementing learning strategies and training programmes across the charity. The role will be accountable for the training team, holding responsibility for its quality and consistency and reporting directly to the Director of HR to support our workforce development and 3-year business plan.
The role will focus on building and maintaining a technical, operational, professional, and leadership learning and development infrastructure that will strengthen all employee capabilities and support career development.
You will be developing talent across the organisation, designing and supporting learning and development journeys, supporting the organisation’s growth. You will work with other members of the HR team to identify and grow talent and support managers and mentors with workforce development and succession planning.
The post holder will lead on both our internal and external training programmes. The role will interpret and understand the learning and development activities across the organisation whilst having a passion and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion to ensure training is interactive, engaging and inclusive.
Confidentiality is paramount within our service and human resources department.
You will ensure the department is engaging and a go to within the charity for questions and queries regarding training and development plans by creating a positive impact on learning. You will ensure all staff and volunteers have the full training required to deliver their roles.
The vision is to create a learning and development team within the HR department.
You will have an enthusiastic, open, and creative approach to learning, accommodating the development needs of paid staff and volunteers through coaching and mentoring, as well as direct training sessions, with an understanding of reasonable adjustments.
You will be good at collaborating, be open and approachable, with a willingness to drive the training team to create a comprehensive and professional training experience for all.
You will be self-motivated and able to manage a high workload with minimal management supervision, meet targets and deadlines, and respond effectively to changing priorities.
