A group of Citizens Advice Plymouth volunteers with the Inversting in Volunteers Award

We’ve been recognised for investing in our volunteers!

We’re really proud to share that we’ve achieved the Investing in Volunteers quality mark again.

Investing in Volunteers (IiV) is the UK quality standard for all organisations with volunteers. It aims to improve the quality of the volunteering experience for all volunteers and demonstrates that organisations value the enormous contribution they make.

The Chair of UK Volunteering Foundation (UKVF), the Awarding Body, said: “Citizens Advice Plymouth have demonstrated a real commitment to volunteering, and proven that their volunteer management policies and procedures meet nationally recognised standards.”

The charity was assessed against six quality areas and proved to excel in all aspects of working with its volunteers, including volunteer inclusion, supporting volunteers, and valuing and support volunteers.

The awarding body noted that “volunteers were all very positive about the support and supervision provided” and “…enjoy being here and really feel part of the organisation.”

People from all walks of life are welcome at the charity, with current members of the team of over 40 volunteers including students who want to develop their skills, retirees who want to use their experience to do something meaningful, and people who, despite health or other challenges, choose to use their time in helping others.
