Outreach Projects

Citizens Advice Plymouth are working in partnership with Plymouth City Council to support residents experiencing financial difficulty through the Crisis and Resilience Fund.

About the fund

The Crisis and Resilience Fund is funded by the Department for Work and Pensions.

Eligible households who are struggling or in urgent financial crisis can get support and advice to help them manage households bills, benefits and debts.

Support may include financial contributions, vouchers or goods in-kind for essential items like food and energy costs. Our advisers will agree the type of support with you as part of the application process.

Eligibility

Support may be available to low-income households experiencing financial hardship or crisis, particularly where one or more of the below points also apply:

  •  recent loss of income, housing instability, relationship breakdown, or hospital discharge
  • health conditions or disability within the household
  • low income or reliance on means-tested benefits
  • someone in the household is of pension age
  • families with children living in the property
  • experiencing fuel poverty or difficulty affording energy costs, including heating oil prices
  • living in a cold, damp or hard-to-heat home

Eligibility may also be determined through referral or identification by partner organisations.

Households may not be eligible if:

  • no financial hardship or crisis is present
  • the requested support duplicates assistance already given for the same need
  • the need can be met through another government scheme or grant that is more appropriate
  • the household does not live within the Plymouth local authority area

Applications may also be declined where there is not enough information provided to assess eligibility.
