As well as giving people the advice they need to resolve the problems they face, Citizens Advice also campaign to change the policies and practices that affect people’s lives. The research and campaigns team aim to identify the underlying causes of our clients’ issues and take action to tackle these at source by:

  • Collecting evidence from our clients’ experiences
  • Researching using internal and external data sources
  • Planning and delivering campaigns – to raise awareness and promote policy change
  • Involving our clients and other organisations in our campaigns
  • Influencing and networking, for example attending events in the community and meeting with MPs and Councillors
  • Communicating issues, such as on local radio or newspapers

Citizens Advice Plymouth campaign on national issues that are impacting people across the country, and on local issues that are affecting the local community.
