Disrepair, including damp and mould and repairs and maintenance issues, was one of the biggest issues private and social rented tenants in Plymouth contacted us for support with last year.
We know that the process of getting your landlord or letting agent to complete repairs in a timely manner can be tricky. It is important to know which repairs you are responsible for as a tenant and which repairs your landlord has to complete. It’s good to be aware of what you can do if they do not respond within a reasonable timeframe, or the issue is impacting your health or the health of your household.
With support from Shelter Plymouth, we have developed a new easy read resource about housing disrepair that can be used by anyone. It breaks down the process of dealing with disrepair into simple steps, from how to report a repair issue to your landlord or letting agent, to where you can get advice if your landlord is not completing repairs.
The booklet is free to download and can be shared with your clients or friends. Please click on the picture to view the booklet.
